PROFIBUS DP remote I/O – what you need to know
This 6ES7143-2BH50-0AB0 is a SIMATIC ET 200S digital hybrid module – 8 fixed inputs and 8 outputs that can be configured as additional inputs or kept as outputs (16 process channels). It rides on PROFIBUS DP, so it pulls diagnostics and status over the bus. The die-cast aluminum housing sheds heat well in enclosures up to 55°C ambient; at that limit each output can still source 2 A into a resistive load (derated from the 0.5 A nominal per channel at lower temps).
Field-fit and mounting
The module is 150 mm deep, 54 mm wide, and 55 mm tall (64 mm with the front plug). That plugs into an ET 200S terminal block on a DIN rail – no tools needed to swap it. Cable runs: PROFIBUS DP unshielded up to 10 m, shielded up to 30 m per line. Input thresholds are standard 24 V sink/source (signal 1 from +15 to +30 V). Short-circuit protection per group (X0–X1 or X2–X3 on outputs) with a diagnostic frame that lights the SF LED. Missing load voltage also flags on the PWR LED.
