Compact field I/O for harsh environments
The Siemens 6ES7143-5BF00-0BA0 is an ET 200eco PN digital I/O module built for direct mounting in the field — IP65/67, M8 connectors, and a -30 to 55 °C ambient range mean it lives on the machine, not in a cabinet. It carries 4 digital outputs, each rated 0.7 A, and 4 digital inputs that can be parameterized as DIQ (dual-purpose I/O). That reduces spare-part SKUs when you need a small mix of sensors and actuators locally. I&M data (I&M0–I&M3) and parameterizable diagnostic alarm are built in, so your maintenance toolchain sees device identity and fault origin down to the channel level. The module draws 2.5 W typical from the 24 V DC supply, leaving plenty of headroom for the sensor loop and actuator coils on the same line.
Sourcing and lifecycle
For BOM-freeze planning, note the firmware version V1.0.x. Rev-lock is possible if your project requires a specific firmware load; your RFQ can request the current delivery firmware.
Wiring and mounting notes
The module uses M8, 4-pin, shielded connectors (ET-Connection). Accepts 2-wire sensors natively. Maximum unshielded cable run is 30 m. Dimensions: 159 mm high, 30 mm wide, 40 mm deep — it fits a typical cable-gland footprint for distributed blocks. Output short-circuit protection is module-by-module and covers both output-to-M and encoder-supply-to-M faults. The module diagnostics LED (green/red) reports channel status and module health. Switch-off delay of outputs is symmetric: pulse suppression during inductive load switching is accounted for by the filtering (1.2–4.8 ms on/off). Lamp load switching is rated at 1 Hz max.
