The 6ES7143-6BH00-0BB0 is a mixed digital I/O module in the ET 200AL family, offering 16 inputs and 16 outputs on a compact 45 mm wide base. It communicates over PROFINET with full IRT support down to a 125 µs send cycle, making it suitable for isochronous motion or fast logic loops on the same bus. Both EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP are also supported, so it can join non-Siemens controllers without a gateway.
Connection and diagnostics
Two M12 D-coded ports handle the network connection; the module itself is IP20-rated, designed for control cabinet mounting on a DIN rail. Each input channel monitors for wire-break below 0.3 mA, and each output is protected against short-circuit to M and P on a per-channel basis. Faults are indicated by a multicolour IO LED (red-green-yellow) and separate MS/NS/ERROR/MAINT LEDs.
Data mapping and asset tags
The input process data occupies 2 bytes plus 4 bytes of Quality Information that can be used for per-channel diagnostics without extra ladder logic. Outputs are packed into 2 bytes, split into two load groups of eight. I&M0 through I&M3 are supported, so maintenance and engineering records can store location, installation date, and service notes directly on the module — useful for large distributed cells where serial numbers alone don't tell the story.
Temperature and compliance
Full operating range from -40 to 60 °C ambient. The module supports shared-device configuration with up to two EtherNet/IP scanners.
