What it is, what it does
The 6ES7144-4GF00-0AB0 is a current-production analog input module for the Simatic ET 200SP system, providing four channels that handle 4-to-20 mA signals with integrated wire-break and short-circuit detection. Each channel uses an integrating measurement principle with a 67 ms conversion time and the module completes a full cycle of all four channels in up to 267 ms. Diagnostic alarms are parameterizable, and a hardware interrupt (limit value alarm) is available on channel 0 — useful for triggering a fast PLC response without polling.
Physical integration and power budget
The module measures 45 mm width, 130 mm height, and 35 mm depth, dropping into a standard ET 200SP slot without needing panel modifications. Draws 10 mA typical from the backplane bus and up to 45 mA from the 24 V DC supply; typical power loss is 1.1 W. Isolation between channels and the backplane is tested at 500 V DC, and crosstalk between inputs is at least -50 dB, keeping signal integrity tight in mixed-panel environments.
