PROFIsafe slice with integrated switch
The 6ES7146-6FF00-0AB0 is a SIMATIC ET 200SP digital I/O module that pairs 8 bytes of inputs with 6 bytes of outputs and carries PROFIsafe for safety-related data exchange over PROFINET. The onboard 2-port switch (autocrossing, autonegotiation) lets you daisy-chain devices without an external network component, saving a DIN-rail slot on the remote cabinet. Diagnostic alarm and I&M data (I&M0 to I&M3) are included — the red/yellow SF/MT LED signals a group error so the commissioning engineer can spot a channel fault without scrolling through the PLC diagnostics buffer. Module draws 9 W typ. from the 24 V DC supply. At 60 °C the rated current is 3.9 A (the maximum for the whole module); plan the backplane budget accordingly.
Input filter and signal thresholds
Digital inputs accept signal '0' from -30 V DC to +5 V DC and signal '1' from 15 V DC to 30 V DC. The input filter is parameterizable in steps of 0.8, 1.6, 3.2, 6.4, or 12.8 ms — a range that covers both clean proximity sensors and mechanically bounced limit switches without forcing a single fixed debounce. Short-circuit protection is built in, and the module supports a maximum unshielded cable length of 30 m for the inputs. On lamp load the maximum switching frequency is 10 Hz, which is typical for indicator lamps but not for high-speed strobes.

The module measures 60 mm wide, 175 mm high, 49 mm deep — it's a single-wide ET 200SP slice. The M12 port is the fieldbus interface; verify your connector type matches the M12 coding (the evidence does not specify D-coded or X-coded, so check the marking on the module face).
