The 6ES7147-1AA01-0XB0: The module measures 134 mm wide, 110 mm high, and 55 mm deep — it occupies a standard S7-300 slot width, with the 107 mm module width leaving clearance for DIN-rail end brackets. It provides 32 bytes of input and 32 bytes of output data, with size and consistency configurable per the application. Total I/O count is 128, addressing up to 256 bytes of process image.

Communications and fieldbus

Built-in MPI and PROFIBUS DP slave interfaces — the DP port runs at up to 12 Mbit/s, with auto-baud support from 9.6 kbit/s through 12 Mbit/s. The MPI channel is usable for PG communication. The CPU supports binary logic, arithmetic, comparison, shift/rotate, and floating-point operations, plus system functions for interrupt/error handling, data copy, and module parameterization.

Memory and program execution

Integrated 24 kbyte of work memory (1 instruction averages 3 bytes), plus 40 KB RAM and 40 KB Flash that can be programmed in the CPU section. The command set includes bracketed operations, saving, counting, loading, transferring, and jump functions. Typical bit operation execution is 1 ms per 1000 binary statements. Program organization can be linear or structured, with one free-cycle OB (OB 1), one startup OB (OB 100), and one process alarm OB (OB 40).

Power and protection

Rated 24 V DC supply, drawing up to 160 mA from 1L+. Power dissipation is 1.6 W typical. Electronic short-circuit protection is built in; reverse polarity protection is not provided. Diagnostic alarm and group error (SF red) and bus fault (BF red) LEDs are present. Retentivity is adjustable for M bits 0.0 to 255.7, with a retentive range of 0 to 2047.
