Programming Language Support
The 6ES7151-7AB00-0AB0: This module supports LAD, FBD, SCL, and STL, so existing logic written in any of these IEC languages runs without conversion. No MPI or TCP/IP routing is available onboard. Programming requires STEP 7 V5.1 or higher, or STEP 7 Lite V2.0 and up.
Work Memory and Firmware
Integrated work memory is 48 KB as of firmware V1.13 (previously 24 KB). The module uses a plug-in MMC card for firmware storage and offers variables including inputs, outputs, memory bits, DBs, timers, and counters. Single-step debugging and status block monitoring are supported.
Physical Connections and Commissioning
The interface type combines a fiber-optic interface and an integrated RS 485 interface for programming. GSD file for network configuration is available at Siemens' Profibus GSD repository. No PROFINET interface onboard — this is a Profibus DP module.
