PROFINET IO over fiber — what it does
The Siemens 6ES7152-1BA00-0AB0 is a PROFINET IO communication module with a multimode fiber-optic interface and an integrated two-port switch. It supports Media Redundancy Protocol and LLDP, so it can sit in a ring topology with sub-200 ms failover and automatic neighbor discovery. Rated at 100 Mbit/s, it offers diagnostics, alarms, and acyclic interrupts, with front-panel LEDs for RUN, LINK, ERROR, and MAINT.
