Interface module for ET200M, expanded temperature range
The Siemens 6ES7153-1AA83-0XB0 is a PROFIBUS DP slave interface for the ET200M distributed I/O system, supporting up to 8 S7-300 modules per station. It operates over an expanded ambient temperature range of -25 °C to 60 °C, which broadens its use in non-conditioned enclosures. The I²t rating of 0.1 A²·s is the short-circuit energy withstand for the backplane; this figure matters for bus protection coordination if you're sizing upstream fuses or breakers. The interface draws up to 350 mA at 24 V DC and provides a maximum of 1 A at 5 V DC to the backplane bus. Maximum transmission rate is 12 Mbit/s, with automatic baud rate detection. It uses a 9-pin Sub-D connector.
Physical and electrical integration
Dimensions are 40 mm wide, 125 mm high, 117 mm deep — it occupies one slot width and sits on a standard DIN rail. IP20 protection means it's suitable for enclosure interior only. Power loss is 3 W typical, no additional heatsinking required in normal flow. The module supports SYNC and FREEZE commands, and direct data exchange (slave-to-slave communication as sender).
