IM 153-2 High Feature on the PROFIBUS DP segment
The Siemens 6ES7153-2BA01-0XB0 is the ET 200M interface module that connects up to eight S7-300 I/O modules to a PROFIBUS DP network at 12 Mbit/s. It supports isochronous mode and time stamping on signal changes with a 0.466 ns resolution, which means the PLC gets a precise event timestamp from the remote rack without a separate time-stamp terminal.
Rack capacity and redundancy
This High Feature variant handles up to 128 digital inputs for time stamping and 128 bytes each of input and output process data. Redundancy is built in — two IM 153-2 modules can occupy the same ET 200M rack for a redundant PROFIBUS DP connection, with the standby module taking over without a bus cycle interruption.
Panel integration
The 9-pin sub-D socket connects to the PROFIBUS DP segment; the RS-485 transmission procedure handles up to 1 to 125 node addresses per segment. IP20 rated — intended for a clean, dry enclosure; no washdown or outdoor exposure.
