The Siemens 6ES7153-2BA82-0XB0 is a PROFIBUS DP slave interface module for the ET 200M distributed I/O family. It communicates at up to 12 Mbit/s over an RS-485 bus per EN 50170, exchanging up to 244 bytes each for input and output. The module draws a maximum of 650 mA from the backplane at 5 V DC, with a typical power loss of 5.5 W. The backplane current on the 5 V rail is limited to 1.5 A total — keep that in mind when populating the rack, because exceeding it drops the interface without warning.
Time stamping and sequence-of-events capture
Time stamps at signal change with a resolution of 0.466 ns and an accuracy of 1 ms when the station holds up to eight modules; accuracy relaxes to 10 ms with up to twelve modules. This module holds the station for event-triggered capture on a burner management or turbine governor system — that 1 ms window is fine for most plant-level sequence-of-events records, but if you need to resolve sub-millisecond faults you'll need a faster dedicated recorder.
Integration notes
