PROFINET IO interface for S7-300 ET 200M
The Siemens 6ES7153-4BA00-0XB0 is an IM 153-4 PN IO interface module that connects an ET 200M distributed I/O station to a PROFINET IO network. It supports isochronous real-time (IRT) communication for deterministic data exchange and Media Redundancy Protocol (MRP) for ring-topology fault tolerance. The module handles up to 672 bytes of input data and 192 bytes of output data, with extended HART user data carried in the input area.
Power draw and backplane loading
The module draws a maximum of 600 mA from the 24 V DC supply (permissible range 20.4 V to 28.8 V DC) and consumes 1.5 A from the 5 V backplane bus. Typical power loss is 6 W. Inrush current is 4 A typ; the mains/voltage failure stored energy time is 5 ms. Isolation is tested at 1500 V AC between PROFINET and the 24 V supply, and 500 V DC between functional ground and the 24 V supply.
Redundancy and shared-device capability
The interface supports PROFINET system redundancy (S2) on S7-400H systems, allowing a smooth switchover if the primary controller fails. It also supports shared-device operation with up to two IO Controllers, so two controllers can access different I/O modules in the same ET 200M station. Up to 12 S7-300 modules can be connected per DP slave interface.
