PROFINET IRT with 250 µs cycle granularity
The 6ES7155-6AA00-0BN0 is the ET 200SP interface module (IM 155PN ST) that brings PROFINET IRT onto the remote I/O rack, supporting send cycles from 250 µs up to 4 ms in 125 µs increments. That cycle resolution lets it synchronise with drives and motion controllers on the same isochronous ring — the 100 Mbit/s full-duplex port (100BASE-TX) keeps the update deterministic even with the integrated two-port switch passing MRP frames. The pre-assembled BusAdapter BA 2x RJ45 is mounted at delivery, so the physical connection is a straight RJ45 patch cable into the panel switch or upstream CPU — no separate bus adapter order needed for the standard copper run.
Module capacity and diagnostics
This interface supports up to 64 I/O modules across the ET 200SP backplane, with an additional 16 ET 200AL modules via the BU/BA send extension. The 74 mm depth and 50 mm width fit the standard ET 200SP form factor — the 117 mm height clears the DIN-rail clip and leaves room for the BusAdapter cable bend radius. Diagnostics are signalled through the RUN (green), ERROR (red), and MAINT (yellow) LEDs on the front face. The module also supports I&M data (I&M0 to I&M3) for asset identification, SNMP for network management, and PROFINET alarms — useful when the line-side PLC needs to pinpoint a dropped module without walking the cabinet.
