What the protocol support means for commissioning
The 6ES7155-6MU00-0CN0: ARP, IGMP, and UDP are standard layer-2/3 services; MRP (Media Redundancy Protocol) adds ring redundancy for PROFINET networks without needing a separate redundancy module. The module also supports PROFIenergy for energy-saving idle states during pauses. For diagnostics, five LEDs (MS, NS, RUN, ERROR, MAINT) give immediate status at the module face without a laptop — MS/NS green/red for bus health, RUN green, ERROR red, MAINT yellow. The I²t rating of 0.25 A²·s indicates the thermal energy the module can withstand during a short-circuit event on its power feed — important for coordination when sizing upstream protective devices. The module itself draws from the backplane bus; the I²t figure applies to the auxiliary power path if used.
