PROFINET IO device, IP65/67
The Siemens 6ES7157-1AB00-0AB0 is a PROFINET IO device with an integrated two-port switch, built for distributed IO in washdown and high-vibration environments. It carries an IP65/67 rating, so it handles spray and debris without a cabinet — keeps up at line speed in a bottling or filling area. The interface uses two M12 D-coded ports, with an M8 ET-connection for the fieldbus, allowing a rugged, sealed installation directly on the machine.
Deterministic performance and network features
IRT (Isochronous Real-Time) is supported with selectable update times from 250 µs to 128 ms, covering fast motion control down to coarse monitoring. MRP and MRPD bring media redundancy for ring topologies; a cable break won’t drop the node. LLDP and SNMP are on board for network diagnostics, and the integrated switch lets you daisy-chain downstream devices without an external switch. PROFINET IO Device and Shared Device functions are included.
SIL 2 and diagnostics
SIL 2 provides diagnostic alarms and status LEDs (RUN green, ERROR red, MAINT yellow). Open IE communication, PROFIenergy, and I&M data (I&M0 to I&M4) are included.
