What it does for the slave-BOM
The 6ES7195-0BA11-0XA0 is the Siemens LSPM2 ASIC, a dedicated PROFIBUS DP slave controller in a 80-pin MQFP package (4 cm² footprint). It implements the complete DP protocol in silicon, requiring no external microprocessor and no firmware — bus access is handled inside the ASIC. Automatic baud-rate detection covers the full range up to 12 Mbit/s. Rated for simple slave applications, the LSPM2 draws 0.35 W max and operates from -40 °C to 75 °C, which covers unheated cabinets and desert-panel extremes without derating.
Sourcing & lifecycle reality
Lifecycle stage is current; no processor or firmware required. The design uses only the ASIC and a transceiver.
Integrator checklist
The LSPM2 mates directly to a PROFIBUS DP transceiver, needing no glue logic. The 80-pin MQFP fits a 4 cm² area; keep ground planes clean for 12 Mbit/s edge rates. For panel builders: temperature range covers -40 °C to 75 °C ambient. At 0.35 W dissipation, no heatsink is needed even in a sealed enclosure.
