PROFIBUS DP ASIC for embedded slave designs
The 6ES7195-0BD33-0XA0 is the Siemens SPC3 ASIC for PROFIBUS DP slave applications. It handles the complete DP protocol in hardware, requiring only an external microcontroller and 4 to 24 KB of firmware. Rated for 12 Mbit/s transmission with automatic baud rate detection, it supports the full DP speed spectrum. The ASIC integrates bus access and a 1.5 kbyte telegram memory, offloading real-time communication from the host CPU. Housed in a 44-pin PQFP with a 2 cm² footprint, it operates from a 5V supply and dissipates just 0.5 W. The temperature range spans -40 to 85 °C, suitable for harsh industrial environments.
