I/O and communication handling
The 6ES7211-1AE31-0XB0: I/O address space is 1 024 byte each for inputs and outputs. Onboard communication includes TCP/IP, MODBUS (client and server), PROFIBUS, and AS-Interface. Forcing and watching variables is supported over variables covering inputs, outputs, memory bits, DBs, distributed I/Os, timers, and counters.
Environmental and approvals
Rated for -40 °C to 70 °C ambient, so it can sit in an unheated warehouse or a packed control cabinet without derating. Backup time is 480 h (typical) for the real-time clock, enough to survive a long weekend power loss without recalibration. Approvals pile up: cULus, CE, FM, UL, CSA — all present, which keeps integration straightforward for North American and European machine builders.
