DC-supplied S7-1200 with full communication stack
The Siemens 6ES7212-1BE31-0XB0 is a compact S7-1200 CPU running on a 24 V DC supply (permissible range 20.4 V to 28.8 V), so it fits panels with a regulated DC bus or battery-backed power. It carries 1 MB of integrated load memory and addresses up to 1 024 bytes each of inputs and outputs—enough for a medium-sized machine with local and distributed I/O. The CPU supports FBD, LAD, and SCL programming, forcing, voltage monitoring, and a 480-hour backup time. It operates from -40 °C to 70 °C.
Fieldbus and connectivity layout
Out of the box, the CPU supports MODBUS (as client/server), UDP, TCP/IP, and PROFIBUS. AS-Interface is also supported. The PROFIBUS port is isolated; an additional PROFIsafe module is not supported on this CPU. For panel integration, the 90 x 100 x 75 mm footprint mounts on standard DIN rail or screw tabs, with the backplane power budget sized for two additional signal modules. Programming via TIA Portal covers all three languages (FBD, LAD, SCL). The integrated Ethernet port supports autocrossing, so no crossover cable for direct PC connection.
