Power Supply and I/O
The 6ES7214-1BD22-0XB0: Runs on 24 V DC nominal (permissible range 20.4 V to 28.8 V) or can accept 100–230 V AC via the integrated supply. Typical power loss is 10 W. The digital inputs are source/sink configurable per group; the outputs switch on lamp loads up to 200 W AC or 30 W DC. Total current drawn from the CPU's 24 V sensor supply is rated. Six high-speed counters (30 kHz each, 32-bit with sign) can handle incremental encoder feedback or count events directly without an add-on module. Backup time from the internal capacitor is 190 hours at 40 °C; an optional battery extends that to 200 days.
Communication and Programming
The integrated RS485 interface supports PPI (for programming and HMI) and MPI protocol; shielded cable runs up to 500 m, unshielded up to 150 m. Programming in LAD, FBD, or STL with free-cycle, interrupt, or time-controlled processing (1–255 ms).
