The Siemens 6ES7214-2BD23-0XB0 has a dual-rated supply: 100 V AC to 230 V AC or 24 V DC (20.4 V to 28.8 V permissible). Integrated 24 V DC inputs are source/sink selectable per group, and six high-speed counters handle up to 200 kHz each – enough for incremental encoders or fast pulse trains from sensors. The relay outputs switch up to 200 W on lamp loads (AC) or 30 W (DC). MPI and PPI protocols support data exchange with HMI devices and other CPUs. The backup capacitor retains data for at least 70 h at 40 °C; an optional battery extends that to 200 days typical.
