The 6ES7216-2AD22-0XB0: Programming is supported in LAD, FBD, and STL, covering the full instruction set from bit logic to floating-point math. The CPU stores the entire program on integral EEPROM; retentive data can be backed by a high-performance capacitor or optional battery module, giving up to 190 hours (minimum 120 hours at 40 °C) of data retention with the capacitor alone. Six high-speed counters (30 kHz each) are onboard, configurable as up/down counters or for incremental encoder inputs with A/B quadrature up to 20 kHz. Two pulse outputs provide 2 µs rise/fall times for stepper or servo pulse trains. The CPU draws a typical 11 W power loss, manageable in most control cabinets.
