The 6ES7221-1BH30-0XB0: IP20, dimensions 100 x 45 x 75 mm. The ambient operating temperature range depends on orientation: vertical installation limits the max ambient to 45 °C, horizontal to 55 °C. The broader -40 to 70 °C range applies to storage/transport or derated scenarios. Permissible temperature change is 5°C to 55°C at 3°C per minute. Falls within the standard S7-1200 module envelope; mounts on the DIN rail alongside the CPU and other slices. Groupable wiring – inputs are arranged in groups of 4.
Cabling and signal reach
Unshielded cable runs up to 300 m, shielded up to 500 m. Parameterizable per channel group – can configure diagnostics, input delay, and which channels trigger alarms. The diagnostic alarm fires on wire break or supply fault, giving a head start before the line stops.
