What it is
The Siemens 6ES7222-1BH32-0XB0 is a 16-channel digital output module for the S7-1200 controller family. Each channel switches 24 V DC at up to 0.5 A resistive load, covering solenoid valves, pilot lamps, and small contactor coils. No onboard short-circuit protection is provided – fuse each group externally as the panel design dictates. The module requires a front connector (ordered separately) and reports diagnostic alarms for faults like wire break or blown fuse. Temperature range spans -40 to 70 °C, so this module works in freezer applications, paint booths, or unheated enclosures without derating. Vertical mounting extends the min to -20 °C, still plenty for most wash-down zones. Approvals cover cULus, CSA, FM, marine, KC, and RCM – one SKU that clears the compliance gate for most projects without relabeling.
