What It Is and What It Does
The 6ES7222-1HF30-0XB0: The module reports a diagnostic alarm on the backplane and provides a status indication per output. A front connector is required separately; note that short-circuit protection is not built in and must be provided externally (e.g., fused terminal block or circuit breaker per group).
Mounting and Derating
Rated for operation from -40 °C to 70 °C, but the 70 °C ceiling applies only when the module is mounted horizontally. Vertical installation (e.g., side-by-side on a DIN rail in a tall cabinet) derates the maximum ambient to 45 °C. If your panel runs hot or has limited airflow, plan for the vertical derating — the module itself is 45 mm wide, 100 mm high, and 75 mm deep, and draws 4.5 W typical from the backplane. Each relay coil draws 11 mA from the load voltage L+ when energized.
Sourcing and Compliance
Marked as current production — no phase-out or last-time-buy window. The module carries CE, FM approval, and RCM (C-TICK) markings, covering the EU, North American hazardous-location installations, and Australian EMC compliance. It is specifiable into a new BOM or as a drop-in replacement for an existing 8-relay output slot, subject to firmware and configuration matching.
