RTD selection and integration
The 6ES7231-5PD30-0XB0: The module handles all the common industrial RTD types without needing separate conditioners: Pt10, Pt50, Pt100, Pt200, Pt500, Pt1000, Ni100, Ni120, Ni200, Ni500, Ni1000, Cu10, Cu50, Cu100, and LG-Ni1000. Measurement is integrating (no thermocouple support – the thermocouple field shows 'No'). Diagnostics can be read out over the backplane, and the alarms are parameterizable (the alarm field says 'Yes'). That saves panel space by eliminating external alarm relays.
For a bin that already holds standard S7-1200 modules, this RTD input drops into the same mounting rail and uses the standard 24 V DC supply. No separate sensor supply needed – the module provides excitation for two-wire RTDs. Wire-break detection per channel ('Wire-break Yes') flags open loops without additional hardware.
