What the 14-bit resolution and input ranges mean for your loop
The 6ES7233-4HF50-0XB0 packs four analog inputs and four analog outputs into a single SM 1233 module for the S7-1200 G2 platform, saving a slot compared to separate input and output cards. Each input channel uses a 14-bit ADC and accepts ±10 V, ±5 V, ±2.5 V, 0-20 mA, or 4-20 mA — the same set of ranges you find on the standalone SM 1231 AI, so migrating a mix of signal types doesn't require a new wiring scheme. On the output side, the 14-bit DAC drives ±10 V, 0-20 mA, or 4-20 mA loops. The 4-20 mA option means you can power a two-wire transmitter from the loop and still detect a broken wire at 0 mA.
Active lifecycle and compliance paperwork
RoHS compliant since 22 January 2025, with a REACH candidate-list declaration for lead (CAS 7439-92-1) above 0.1% w/w — the standard lead-in-solder disclosure for this class. Export control is AL:N / ECCN:EAR99H, meaning no special license required for most commercial shipments.
