The Siemens 6ES7241-1AH32-0XB0 is a single-port RS232C (V.24) serial communication module for the S7-1200 family, supporting both Modbus RTU master and slave protocols. It draws up to 200 mA from the 5 V DC backplane bus and runs on a 24 V DC rated supply, with a typical power loss of 1.1 W. Rated for an ambient operating range of -40 °C to 70 °C, with a derated maximum of 50 °C when installed vertically. Pressure tolerance from 795 hPa to 1080 hPa covers most non-sealed enclosures. IP20 protection means it lives inside a panel. Handles standard Modbus addressing from 1 to 49,999, supports up to 247 slaves per network segment (practical limit 32 devices per segment without repeaters), transmits telegrams up to 1 kbyte. Cable length limited to 10 m.
