CPU SR60 — what fits in the panel
The Siemens 6ES7288-1SR60-0AA1 is a S7-200 SMART CPU SR60 with 30 kbyte program memory, 144 bytes of inputs and 144 bytes of outputs (256 bits digital plus 56 words analog each side). It runs on 120 V AC or 230 V AC supply, transformer-isolated at 1500 V AC, and operates from -40 °C to 70 °C. PROFINET IO controller is built in, supporting both client and server roles with autonegotiation and autocrossing. For legacy fieldbus, RS-485 at up to 187.5 kbps is on-board; PROFIBUS requires the CM DP module. The minimum PROFINET update time is 4 ms, though that depends on the number of IO devices and configured data. Programming is supported in LAD, FBD, and STL — yes, all three. The hardware clock has no battery backup; the RTC is maintenance-free but needs 7 days of power-on to retain time. Forcing is supported, and the PID closed-loop controller handles up to 8 loops with continuous or binary outputs and auto/manual mode.
This CPU is an active catalog number in the S7-200 SMART line. It carries CE marking, which covers the EU regulatory framework for industrial control equipment. No UL, CSA, or other agency marks are listed on this record — verify with your quality documentation if a specific approval is required for your panel.
Integration notes
Mounts on standard DIN rail. Spring-cage terminals on the I/O accept 0.2–2.5 mm² solid or ferruled stranded — strip to 8 mm. The RS-485 port is shielded, max 500 m at 187.5 kbps. High-speed counters are parameterizable: six single-phase channels (four at 200 kHz, two at 30 kHz) or four A/B-phase channels (two at 100 kHz, two at 20 kHz). The DDR memory type is flash-backed for program retention.
