The 6ES7288-1ST30-0AA1 is a CPU with 144 bytes each for inputs and outputs, mapped as 256 bits of digital plus 56 words of analog per side. It programs in LAD, FBD, and STL — so whatever your in-house standard is, this CPU speaks it. The 18 kB program memory is tight for a multi-axis line but fine for a standalone station or a pump skid. Built-in PID control handles up to 8 loops, with continuous or binary outputs and auto/manual bumpless transfer. That covers most single-loop temperature, pressure, or flow applications without an extra controller card.
Tough enough for the route
Transformer-isolated power supply, 1,500 V AC isolation. Mounts on standard DIN rail. Snap on and wire the terminals.
Communications and fieldbus
Comes with PROFINET onboard — acts as both client and server, with auto-crossing and auto-negotiation. Minimum update time is 4 ms, which is quick enough for most I/O scans but not for high-speed motion. If you need PROFIBUS, add a CM DP module. RS-485 port runs at up to 187.5 kbps for Modbus RTU or USS drives. Shielded cable maxes out at 500 m, but drop that to 50 m if you're using the high-speed counter inputs — those need a short leash to keep noise out.
CE marked for the European market. No UL or CSA listing in the evidence.
