CPU overview and key specs

The Siemens 6ES7288-1ST60-0AA1 is an S7-1200 CPU with 30 KB of program memory, 144 bytes each of digital and analog I/O addressing (256 bits digital, 56 words analog), and two PROFINET ports with auto-crossing and auto-negotiation. It supports LAD, FBD, STL, and RAM programming languages. Built-in PID closed-loop control handles up to 8 loops with continuous or binary outputs and automatic/manual mode. Six high-speed counters are parameterizable: four single-phase at 200 kHz and two at 30 kHz, or four A/B-phase at 100 kHz and two at 20 kHz. The CPU includes a real-time clock with 7-day backup (maintenance-free, requires 7 days of power-on to charge), and a RS-485 interface (max. 187.5 kbps) for PPI or Modbus RTU. PROFIBUS connectivity is available via an optional CM DP module.

Standard DIN-rail mounting; dimensions 175 x 100 x 81 mm (W x H x D). Operating temperature range -40 to 70 °C, making it suitable for unheated enclosures or outdoor cabinets. Transformer-isolated power supply at 1,500 V AC.
