CPU with Built-In Function Modules
The Siemens 6ES7313-5BF03-0AB0 is a CPU 313C with eight integrated function modules (FM 8) for counting, frequency measurement, and PWM generation. It also includes integrated digital I/O and supports MPI and RS-485 communication. Programmed in LAD, FBD, SCL, STL, GRAPH, and HiGraph under STEP 7 V5.3 SP2 or later. This version requirement means the CPU is not natively supported in TIA Portal without importing the project via the STEP 7 converter.
Mechanical and Panel Fit
The module occupies 120 mm width on the S7-300 DIN rail, equivalent to three standard 40 mm slots. Height is 125 mm, depth 130 mm. Verify slot availability in the rack (standard or active bus rail) before ordering. Not expandable — the built-in I/O and function modules are fixed. No additional signal modules can be added via the backplane. Plan all required I/O capacity and function blocks into the CPU selection upfront.
