Lifecycle status — end-of-life
Integrated I/O and memory profile
The CPU 314 IFM packs 16 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs, plus 4 analog inputs and 1 analog output, all on the base unit — no separate I/O module needed for small-machine or local-control applications. Working memory is 24 KB, which sets the upper bound for the user program and data blocks. For a compact S7-300 CPU this is enough for medium-complexity logic with a few hundred network rungs and a modest tag table. The integrated 24 VDC power supply feeds the CPU backplane and the onboard I/O, so the panel layout needs only a single 24 VDC feed to this unit — no separate PS module required for the CPU slot.
The compact width saves one slot in the rail compared to a CPU plus separate I/O module combination — relevant when the enclosure fill factor is tight.
