Module Overview and Key Ratings
The Siemens 6ES7322-1BH01-0AA0 is a SM 322 digital output module for the S7-300 family, providing 16 solid-state outputs rated at 24 V DC with a per-channel current of 0.5 A for signal "1". Each output is electronically short-circuit protected, with a typical response threshold of 1 A. The module draws up to 80 mA from the 5 V DC backplane bus. For resistive loads, the maximum switching frequency is 100 Hz; for inductive loads, it is 0.5 Hz. On lamp loads, the maximum is 10 Hz. The rated output current is 2 A at up to 40 °C and 3 A at up to 60 °C — note that the higher temperature rating allows a higher current, not a derating.
Physical and Connectivity
The module dimensions are 125 mm height, 40 mm width, and 120 mm depth. It requires a 20-pin front connector. The outputs are grouped in two groups of 8 channels with isolation between the groups. Isolation is tested at 500 V DC.
Switching Characteristics and Diagnostics
The module does not support diagnostic alarms, wire-break detection, fuse-blown monitoring, or missing load voltage alarms. It is not suitable for uprating applications. The switching delay from "0" to "1" is 100 µs maximum; from "1" to "0", 500 µs maximum.
