Module overview
The 6ES7322-8BF00-0AB0: Wire-break detection is standard, and diagnostics are fully parameterizable, readable over the backplane bus. Switching times are 180 µs for 0→1 and 245 µs for 1→0, making it suitable for applications up to 100 Hz at resistive loads. The module fits a single S7-300 slot (120 mm deep, 40 mm wide, 125 mm high) and requires a 20-pin front connector. Isolation is tested at 500 V DC.
Diagnostics and wiring
The module provides group error (SF red) and per-channel fault indications (F red). Diagnostic data includes wire-break, short-circuit, and missing load voltage. The diagnostic alarm can be parameterized to mask or enable specific events. For redundant control of a load, outputs must be wired with series diodes only – parallel connection without isolation is not supported. The 20-pin front connector accepts standard S7-300 wiring; spring-cage or screw terminals depending on the connector variant. Power consumption from the backplane bus is 70 mA at 5 V DC typical; the module dissipates 5 W under full load. No external load voltage PWR LED is present (rated value 24 V DC applied externally).
