Safety integrity — SIL 3, Cat. 4, PL e
The 6ES7326-2BF01-0AB0: Rated SIL 3 per IEC 61508, Category 4 per EN 954-1, and Performance Level e per ISO 13849-1. This means the module is designed for safety applications up to the highest single-fault-tolerant level — suitable for guarding applications, emergency stops, and safety-rated shutdown circuits in a fail-safe S7-300 rack. The shielded cable run is limited to 200 m at SIL 3 / Cat. 4 / AK 6, versus 1 000 m for non-safety use. Plan the field wiring distance accordingly when integrating into a safety loop.
Output specs and panel fit
10 digital outputs, each rated 2 A continuous at 24 V DC (2L+, 3L+). At 60 °C the 2 A rating holds without a series diode; with a series diode it derates to 4 A per output. Horizontal installation supports 2 A per channel; vertical derates to 1 A. The module draws 100 mA from the backplane bus (5 V DC) and up to 70 mA from the 1L+ supply. Add 100 mA each from 2L+ and 3L+ load supplies for module overhead. Total power loss is 12 W typical — factor this into the enclosure thermal budget. Dimensions are 80 mm wide, 125 mm tall, 120 mm deep. It requires a 40-pin front connector (not included). The module snaps onto the S7-300 DIN rail and occupies one slot.
