Input flexibility — thermocouple, RTD, voltage, current
The 6ES7331-7KB82-0AB0: The module handles thermocouple types E, J, K, and N, plus RTDs like Pt 100 and Ni 100 — standard sensitivity, no special scaling required. Voltage ranges cover ±10 V, ±5 V, ±2.5 V, ±1 V, ±500 mV, ±250 mV, and ±80 mV; current ranges span ±20 mA, ±3.2 mA, 0–20 mA, and 4–20 mA. Resistance measurement is supported across 0–150, 0–300, and 0–600 ohms. Integration time is parameterizable at 2.5, 16.67, 20, or 100 ms — the 16.67 ms setting matches 60 Hz line-cycle rejection for North American installations.
Panel fit and electrical baseline
The module measures 40 mm wide, 125 mm high, and 120 mm deep — it occupies a single S7-300 slot width, so check your rail allocation before committing. Rated 24 VDC supply with a typical power loss of 1.3 W. Isolation is tested at 500 V DC between channel groups and the backplane bus. Diagnostic and limit-value alarms are supported on channel 0 — useful for catching a sensor open-circuit or a process excursion before it hits the controller logic.
