Output flexibility and signal conditioning
The 6ES7332-7ND00-0AB0: Four analog outputs, each configurable for voltage (0 to 10 V, 1 V to 5 V, -10 V to +10 V) or current (0 to 20 mA, 4 to 20 mA, -20 mA to +20 mA), with 16-bit resolution including overrange — the extra bit gives headroom above the nominal span for diagnostic scaling. Conversion time is 1.5 ms per channel, so a full four-channel update cycle takes 6 ms — fast enough for closed-loop process control on valves, drives, and setpoint ramps, but not for high-speed servo axes.
Load drive and protection limits
Voltage outputs drive a minimum 1 kΩ load and are short-circuit protected, with a 40 mA current limit; current outputs drive up to 500 Ω (max 18 V compliance) and handle inductive loads up to 1 mH. Settling times: 0.2 ms for resistive loads, 0.5 ms for inductive or capacitive loads — the inductive figure governs when driving solenoid valves or analog actuator coils.
Panel fit and backplane draw
Standard S7-300 form factor: 40 mm wide, 125 mm tall, 120 mm deep — occupies one slot in the DIN-rail-mounted rail. Requires a 20-pin front connector (ordered separately). Draws 60 mA from the 5 V backplane bus and up to 240 mA from the 24 V load supply (no-load); typical power loss is 3 W. Channel-to-backplane isolation is tested at 500 V DC.
