RS232C serial link for S7-300 racks
The Siemens 6ES7341-1AH02-0AE0 is a CP 341 communications processor for the SIMATIC S7-300 family, providing one isolated RS232C (V.24) interface via a 9-pin sub-D connector. It handles point-to-point serial communication using ASCII, 3964(R), and RK 512 protocols, each with a 4 096 byte buffer for send and receive.
Protocols, baud rates, and cable reach
Transmission rate is configurable from 0.3 kbit/s up to 115.2 kbit/s across all three supported protocols. The maximum cable length is 15 m, which is the practical RS232C limit at the top baud rate before signal degradation sets in. The module also supports serial printers at the same top rate. Power draw is 70 mA from the 5 V DC backplane bus plus up to 100 mA from the 24 V DC supply (L+), with a maximum power loss of 2.4 W. The supply connects via three screw terminals (L+, M, GND).
