The Siemens 6ES7341-1BH01-0AE0 is a CP 341 communications processor for the S7-300 rack, carrying an isolated 20 mA (TTY) interface — the current-loop standard for long-distance serial links in noisy industrial environments.
Serial protocol and buffer capacity
The CP 341 handles ASCII, 3964(R), and RK 512 protocols with a 1 024 byte buffer per protocol. Maximum transmission rate is 19.2 kbit/s across all protocols, with ASCII and 3964(R) supporting up to 76.8 kbit/s in half-duplex mode. The 20 mA TTY interface supports cable runs up to 1 000 m, making it suitable for point-to-point links across a plant floor where RS-232 would drop out.
Panel fit and power budget
The module occupies a single S7-300 slot at 40 mm wide, 125 mm tall, 120 mm deep. It draws 70 mA from the 5 V backplane bus and up to 200 mA from the 24 V DC supply via three screw terminals (L+, M, GND).
