CPU 414-3 PN/DP for S7-400 racks
The Siemens 6ES7414-3XJ04-0AB0 is a CPU 414-3 PN/DP for the S7-400 platform, supporting 244 bytes each of process inputs and outputs across the backplane. It handles up to 8 RDREC and 8 WRREC data records for PROFIBUS DP communication, and the same count for and operations. The CPU itself is 50 mm wide, 290 mm tall, and 219 mm deep, fitting a standard S7-400 rack slot.
Programming and engineering
This CPU is programmed in STEP 7 and supports all IEC languages: LAD, FBD, STL, SCL, GRAPH, HiGraph, and CFC. It also handles SFB-type blocks. Forcing is available during commissioning. The preset value is set at 120, and the overall number of configurable elements is 32.
Communication interfaces
The CPU includes an MPI interface and a RS 485 port for PROFIBUS DP. It can act as both a DP client and server. Routing is supported. For additional PROFIBUS DP connections via a CP 443-5 Extended, the limit is 10. For CP 440 point-to-point links, the number of connections is limited by available slots; for CP 441, it is limited by connections. The CPU supports 8 RDSYSST system status reads (index 1 to 8), 8 write parameter operations, 8 read diagnostic data operations, 1 topology function, 1 parameter module operation, and 2 write DP parameter operations.
