CPU 414-3 PN/DP — integrator constraints
The Siemens 6ES7414-3XM05-0AB0 is a CPU 414-3 PN/DP for the S7-400 rack, handling up to 244 bytes each of process-input and process-output image, with a maximum of 16 connections overall and a preset of 120 connections for the integrated PROFINET interface. Function blocks are limited per interface: SFB 52 (RDREC) and SFB 53 (WRREC) each allow 8 simultaneous instances per interface, capped at 32 across all external interfaces. SFC 59, SFC 58, SFC 55, SFC 13 each allow 8 per interface; SFC 103 allows 1 per interface; SFC 51 (RDSYSST) allows 8. Communication processors (CP) are limited by slot count and connection availability: CP 440 and CP 441 PtP modules are constrained by the number of slots and connections; for CP 443-1 EX40/EX41/EX20/GX20, a maximum of 4 can be used in the central controller, with no mixed operation of EX40 with the others.
Programming and configuration
The CPU supports CFC, FBD, LAD, SCL, STL, and GRAPH programming languages, and is configured via STEP 7. MPI is not supported on this CPU, so rely on PROFINET or the integrated RS 485 interface for programming and routing (routing is possible with the interface active). Forcing of I/O is supported. Approvals and environmental limits
Carries ATEX II 3G Ex nA IIC T4 Gc certification for use in Zone 2 gas atmospheres, plus cULus and CE mark approvals. Operating temperature range is 0 °C to 60 °C. Physical dimensions: 50 mm wide, 290 mm high, 219 mm deep.
