S7-400 point-to-point coupling module
The Siemens 6ES7441-2AA04-0AE0 is a SIMATIC S7-400 CP 441-2 coupling module for point-to-point serial communication. It provides two variable interfaces supporting ASCII, RK 512, and 3964 (R) protocols at up to 115.2 kbit/s per channel. Power is drawn from the backplane at 5 V DC (max. 600 mA without interface module) and 24 V DC. Typical power loss is 0.3 W.
The 115.2 kbit/s transmission rate is the ceiling for each interface — both ports can run at full speed simultaneously, but the total backplane current draw (600 mA at 5 V DC) must be budgeted in the S7-400 rack. Depth of 210 mm and height of 290 mm match the standard S7-400 form factor.
Protocol and printer support
The module handles ASCII, RK 512, and 3964 (R) protocols natively — no separate loadable driver needed for those. It also drives HP-Deskjet, HP-Laserjet, IBM-Proprinter, and user-defined printers at the same 115.2 kbit/s rate. Customer-specific drivers are reloadable via the memory card. Memory requirements per interface range from 1 to 5 KB for parameters, 0 to 55 KB for message texts, and 0 to 64 KB for loadable drivers.
