What this CPU brings to the panel
The 6ES7510-1DK03-0AB0 program-language surface covers LAD, FBD, STL, SCL, and GRAPH, with a hardware clock on board. It is sized around a 32 kbyte process image for inputs and a 32 kbyte process image for outputs, with 16 of each side mapped into that image, and addressable scope over inputs/outputs, memory bits, DBs, distributed I/Os, timers, and counters. Built-in process control is present in the form of (temperature with integrated optimization) and (valve positioning with integrated optimization), so a panel with a thermal loop or a valve positioning stage does not need a separate controller module.
Network and fieldbus capability set
On the PROFINET side, the CPU supports IRT, MRP, and MRPD — MRP Manager and MRP Client per IEC 62439-2 Edition 2.0, with MRPD explicitly requiring IRT to be enabled — which puts it in scope for redundant ring topologies and synchronized motion/line cells. Beyond PROFINET, the listed protocol stack includes MODBUS TCP, TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP and HTTPS (standard and user pages), SNMP, and LLDP, all over the 100 Mbps Ethernet port. Native RS-485 is not on the front of the unit — serial access is delivered through a CM DP module rather than from the CPU itself. The PROFIsafe host capability is explicitly not provided on this CPU, so safety I/O and F-runtime must be handled by a separate F-CPU in the rack; do not plan to host PROFIsafe on this module.
Diagnostics, asset data, and panel footprint
For commissioning and traceability, the CPU carries ERROR and MAINT status LEDs, supports forcing, exposes I&M data I&M0 through I&M3, and offers 40 trace probes per probe channel — enough for a structured FAT without adding an external logger. The mechanical envelope is 100 mm wide by 117 mm high by 75 mm deep, leaving headroom in the slot for adjacent I/O and communications modules. An I²t value of 0.3 A²·s is listed in the CPU's specification set; treat it as the thermal-load planning constant for the module's internal protective behavior rather than an output-channel rating.
