What it is and what it handles
The 6ES7511-1AK01-0AB0: Process image is 32 kbyte each for inputs and outputs — enough for a compact machine but not a large plant floor. Built-in PROFINET port handles MRP (Automanager, Manager, Client per IEC 62439-2), LLDP, MRPD when IRT is active, and Modbus TCP. Ladder, FBD, STL, SCL, GRAPH all supported; plus and for temperature and valve control without a separate loop controller. Wide temperature range from -40 °C to 70 °C makes it usable in unheated enclosures or freezer applications. Note: no PROFIsafe on this CPU — safety functions require an external F-CPU or F-modules.
Fieldbus and network integration
Single PROFINET port at 100 Mbps, IRT-capable. Supports DCP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, SNMP, I&M data (I&M0 to I&M3). MRP Automanager means the CPU can act as ring manager without an external switch — simplifies cabling and reduces component count. Up to four communication modules (CM/CP) can be inserted for expansion to PROFIBUS, additional PROFINET, or Ethernet interfaces.

Width 35 mm, depth 129 mm, height 147 mm — fits a single-wide slot on the S7-1500 backplane. DIN-rail mount. Commissioning features: forcing, diagnosis LEDs (ERROR, MAINT), I&M data for asset tracking.
