Integrator's note
The 6ES7511-1FK00-0AB0: IRT (Isochronous Real-Time) is supported, critical for synchronized drives or high-speed axis coupling. MRP redundancy can be configured with the CPU as manager or client, ring size up to 50 devices — useful when a single cable break must not take down the line. The web server is standard, serving both standard and user-defined pages; HTTPS is activated by default.
Communication & redundancy
PROFINET interface runs at 100 Mbps. DCP (Discovery and Configuration Protocol) is enabled out of the box, so TIA Portal finds the CPU automatically during commissioning. MRP redundancy manager/client support means the CPU can be part of a media-redundant ring without an external switch. For non-PROFINET networks, the four CM/CP slots allow PROFIBUS, Ethernet, or additional PROFINET adapters. S7 routing is supported, allowing communication across subnets. Modbus TCP is built in, and the CPU also handles TCP/IP, UDP, LLDP, and SNMP. No DHCP client (static addressing only per the spec).
