32 kbyte process image, PROFINET IRT
The Siemens 6ES7512-1CK01-0AB0 CPU handles a 32 kbyte process image for both inputs and outputs, updating within one IRT cycle. MRP (Media Redundancy Protocol) is supported with the CPU acting as MRP Automanager per IEC 62439-2 Edition 2.0, so it can manage a ring topology without a separate switch. If you need MRPD (MRP with planned duplication), that requires IRT to be active.
Extended temperature, 100 Mbps, 6 CM slots
Rated for -40 to 70 °C ambient, this CPU fits into outdoor cabinets or unheated enclosures where standard 0-55 °C units would derate. The 110 mm width leaves room alongside power supplies and I/O slices on the DIN rail. The single PROFINET port runs at 100 Mbps with IRT support for isochronous real-time motion control. Up to six communication modules (CMs or CPs for PROFIBUS, additional PROFINET, or Ethernet) can be inserted into the left-side expansion slots.
Programming languages, PID-Temp, I&M data
Programmable in LAD, FBD, STL, SCL, and GRAPH — the full TIA Portal toolchain. An integrated PID controller with optimisation for temperature loops is built in, so no separate function block library is needed for simple thermal control. I&M data (I&M0 to I&M3) is supported for asset management and device replacement without manual configuration. The hardware clock captures time-stamped diagnostic events.
