The 6ES7512-1DM03-0AB0 is a standard CPU with 32 kB process image per I/O direction and PROFINET IRT capability. It supports LAD, FBD, STL, SCL, and GRAPH. No PROFIsafe. Built-in PROFINET handles IRT communication with MRP Automanager per IEC 62439-2 Edition 2.0, plus MRPD when IRT is configured. MODBUS TCP, HTTP/HTTPS, SNMP, and LLDP round out the protocol stack for SCADA and IT integration.
Panel fit and wiring
Dimensions 100 x 117 x 75 mm (W x H x D). For RS485, use a CM DP module. Internal power supply protection is characterized by an I2t rating of 0.3 A²·s. Coordinate the external 24 VDC breaker or fuse with this curve to avoid nuisance clearing during inrush.
Application fit
Process image caps at 32 kB each for inputs and outputs — sufficient for a medium-sized line but not for a multi-machine cell with extensive distributed I/O. PID controllers for temperature and valve positioning are built in, eliminating the need for a separate loop controller in many applications. Supports DCP (Discovery and Configuration Protocol) for PROFINET device naming and DNS for hostname resolution, simplifying network configuration in managed environments. I&M data (I&M0 to I&M3) is available for asset tracking.
