Deterministic execution and fail-safe runtime
The 6ES7512-1SM03-0AB0: Process image maps all 32 kbyte inputs and outputs without segmentation — worst-case I/O update latency is bounded by the single cycle time of the organisation block polling the process image. Hardware clock (type: hardware clock) provides sub-millisecond timestamp resolution for MRP-Manager synchronisation or IRT cycle alignment. Integrated fail-safe runtime via FBD (incl. failsafe) and LAD (incl. failsafe) eliminates the need for an external F-CPU. PROFIsafe V2.4 / V2.6 supported, enabling up to 40 probes per device and safety-oriented forcing (without fail-safe) for controlled startup. PROFINET interface supports IRT, MRP (Automanager, Manager, Client per IEC 62439-2 Ed. 2.0), and MRPD (requires IRT). MODBUS TCP, DCP, DNS, DHCP, LLDP, SNMP, HTTP/HTTPS with standard and user pages — fieldbus compatibility spans both real-time and IT-side provisioning.
