How it differs from the standard 6ES7515-2AN03-0AB0
The 6ES7515-2UM01-0AB0: The 2UM01-0AB0 is the safety-certified version — it includes PROFIsafe and failsafe runtime, while the 2AN03-0AB0 is standard without safety. Physical dimensions are identical (70 x 147 x 129 mm), so it fits the same panel cutout and backplane. But if your project requires PROFIsafe (which this one does), this is the CPU to quote. The standard version cannot run safety programs.
Networking and protocols
Built-in PROFINET IRT with two ports, plus MODBUS TCP and TCP/IP. MRP is supported as Automanager, Manager, or Client. Additional communication modules (CM/CP) can be added: up to 8 PROFIBUS, PROFINET, or Ethernet modules. DNS, DHCP, LLDP, SNMP, HTTP/HTTPS — all there. Default DCP for device identification.
